Oiso traditional cuisine and cafe

Traditional Korean meals are noted for their number of side dishes {banchan} and usually being served with Korean BBQ. My love affair with korean BBQ began from Kung Jung restaurant and it's the best korean meal I had.
Oiso traditional cuisine and cafe is located at the sphere, bangsar south. To my surprise, there are quite a lot of decent restaurant in this building.
There are indoor and outdoor seating area in the restaurant. We opted for outdoor as we could have a great view outside while having our meal.

The best thing I like about oiso is they serve you banchan with any main dish. This was the first time I had the banchan without ordering the BBQ. Personally, I think banchan is good appetizer. The portion of the side dishes was kinda small but they didn't failed to replenish it.. thanks god!
To be honest I'm not a fan of kimchi, but I found their kimchi was not bad, addictively spicy and less pungent.
The grilled mackerel was a bit too dry. The grilled beef meat was more to my liking, it goes well with a bowl white rice. The set was came with soup as well. The pancake tastes not bad but we couldn't finish it as we were too stuffed to eat anymore.

Paddington house of pancakes

Paddington house of pancakes is one such cafe that offers hearty breakfast without burning a hole in your pocket, and best of all, there're available all day long! They offer variety choices of sweet and savoury pancake.

These are those thick, spongy pancakes that are often eaten with warm syrup and butter. I love them with syrup alone, but if you do want bacon, my personal recommendation is Grilled banana, pineapple & chicken/ beef bacon. Excellent presentation and good combination. MmmmMmmm...
Their original pancake was not bad too, comparable to the one I cooked...hehe. And it was not only came  with ample amount of syrup and butter, it was served with a side of yummy strawberry jam too.

Original stack with maple syrup & butter/peanut butter (RM 6.50)

Grilled banana, pineapple & chicken/ beef bacon (RM14.50)

A crepe is a thin version of pancake. There are wide variety of toppings including nuts, fruit, syrup or ice-cream available.

Pannekoek with apple, raisin, lemon & sugar (RM10.5)

Long black (RM6.0) -Add RM2.50 for fresh refill

Cappuccino (RM7.50)

It's casual and the menu is large with other items like big breakfast if you’re not into the pancake thing! Overall, we had a good food experience. You won't go wrong if you come here for breakfast.

Ben's

Ben's is another restaurant under the BIG group which also brought you Plan B, T forty 2, Ben's general food store and Canoodling. Jolie has warned me that their food was sucks, but stubborn me insisted to give it a try, at least once. One of the reason is the place was decorated nicely, and I did read quite a lot of good reviews about this restaurant.
The handwriting menu is kinda special but some may  face the problem to read the menu.
To be safe, I ordered spaghetti for myself. It was OK but I found  some of the squid was over grilled.
The oozy cheese toastie which contains cheddar, gruyere and parmesan cheese was quite disappointing. The bread was dry and rock-hard. I didn't know where the oozy come from as I can't even taste the cheese.

My tea has such a beautiful name, Red fancy fruit rooibos. But I don't think it has any different from boh tea.

Char-grilled seafood spaghetti (RM22.90)

Oozy cheese toastie (RM17.90)

Red fancy fruit rooibos (RM8.90)

Well, I should have trusted Jolie. I wondered why the restaurant was always packed. This restaurant was overrated! I will not come back again despite the reasonable price.

Delicious afternoon tea

Having afternoon tea can be a fun outing with friends whether you are celebrating a special occasion or having a girls-only gathering.
Delicious by ms read has a warm atmosphere that makes you feel comfortable. The menu offers a la carte selections, as well as  afternoon tea. The afternoon tea service was generously portioned and beautifully presented.
Though much of the fare was to be expected. Assortment of finger sandwiches, scones and clotted cream,  a choice of any 1 slice of delicious cake on display, bla bla  bla...the experience was the real treat.

Afternoon Tea for Two
Served in a Triple Tiered Tray
   RM59.90Afternoon Tea
Warm Scones with Jam & Pure Cream

Assortment of Finger Sandwiches &
Duck Confit in Filo Pastry

Strawberries with Chocolate Dip &
Hand-rolled Chocolate Truffles

Rosemary & Cheese Cookies

A slice of any one cake on display

Two cups of hot tea or coffee

The three varieties of sandwiches were all not bad.

The scones were above average but not splendid.

For the selection of cake, we have chosen berrilicious chocolate pavlova. We couldn't resist it because of the beautiful strawberries on top.
The correct manner should be start eating from the bottom of a tiered tray, but I can't wait to taste the upper layer cakes.
I've never tried pavlova before, so I'm not sure how does it actually taste like.
It was really disappointing. The frosting is too sweet and it feels like you're eating raw sugar. The outside should be crunchy and inside soft or fluffy as I expected. But it was totally as hard as rock. We've only managed to finish the topping. If you are conscious about weight/health issues it would best to avoid eating it.

Cappucino & Tea

I was quite unhappy that the tea was not served by pot which lasts at least four tea cups (like Harrods and T42). But I was glad that ice water was served which really suits our needs, we were kinda thirsty and wanted something  refreshing...It was served at the right time. It’s a place where people can relax and feel comfortable outside their home lovely seating area with tables neatly arrange..just not far enough away with your neighbor. A dining experience that will leave you feeling pampered and relaxed but not overpriced. Do yourself a favor and stop in when you have a weekend afternoon that need wasting. It's a present to yourself that I think you really really deserve. A great place that to enjoy a book, conversation or simply some peace.
