Antipodean @ Tan & Tan

The cafe faces the east (I guess) so as the sun rises, there's a big glare through the front windows, so better sit near the middle or back if you're there around sunrise. They do an excellent job particularly on the breakfast/brunch items. they have a big chalkboard menu on the wall with lots of options. It made us staring awkwardly at the wall for quite a while before deciding what to eat. I like the idea, so environmentally friendly. Price-wise, inexpensive for a big brunch in the city. I recommend Eggs Marlborough as its salmon, hollandaise sauce and eggs combo will leave you pleasantly bewildered. Enjoy!

Affogato (RM10)- A scoop of good quality ice-cream with rich topped with a shot of rich and robust espresso, incredibly prefect.

Latte (RM9) - just ok, tasted a bit diluted

Big breakfast (RM19) - includes a choice of  sausage or bacon, sauteed mushroom, scrambled egg and hash brown and toast. Crunchy toast, tasty mushroom and a big pile of bland scrambled egg, which is fine, just not what I expected. The portion was bigger than I expected. I wasn't super impressed but still a decent meal.

Eggs Marlborough with salmon (RM22) - like Benedict but with smoked salmon instead of ham. Heavenly.

Xiao Bar Wang @ 1 utama

Xiao Bar Wang is a restaurant owned by Singaporean artists, Apple Hong and Ong Ai Leng and Jeff Wang. Now you can truly enjoy the Taiwanese street food without having to fly to Taiwan. The food here is truly fantastic and reminded me of being in Taiwan all over again. Prices was just right, not expensive.

Mee Sua (RM6.90) - is their specialties, the noodles are smooth and the gravy is well seasoned.

Tea Egg (RM0.90/ each) + Mee Sua = Perfect match

Braised  pork rice + drink (RM9.90) - pretty good, quite Taiwanese flavor.

Kocik kitchen @ Melaka

Nyonya food is a blend of Chinese, Malaysian and European, a must try if you ever go to Melaka. Any Nyonya restaurant in Melaka usually not bad if you know how to order.
Kocik kitchen is a Nyonya restaurant that is tucked in the midst of  Jonker street which also has so many food for us to salivate over.

Pai Tee (RM 4.50/ 4 pcs) - Also known as 'Top Hats'. A light and crispy appetizer.

One of the local food you shouldn't miss - Otak otak

Chap chye stew (RM10) - mixed vegetables that tasted like what it supposed to be

Fish chili garam (RM30)- just ok, nothing to jump about

Chicken Ponteh (RM12) - One of the melaka's signature, very addictive.

Fried squid (RM15) - The squid was just okay

Lemak nenas prawn (RM20)- It has just the right amount of coconut and tasted superb

Telur cencaluk (RM8)- the biggest letdown

Fried bee hoon- soso

Duck soup (RM15) - WTH is this?! Never order this

Gula melaka cendol (RM3) - Cendol is a must! As jonker 88 is always crowded and difficult to get a seat, and I heard the standard of the cendol  have dropped. We tried kocik kitchen's cendol and it was surprisingly good, aromatic and flavorful, very satisfying indeed.

If you don't care much about ambience but want a simple and good local food, this is the place. Come early because the place close ealier (~7.30pm) on Sunday.

Free photo storage for blogger

I've been facing problem uploading photo to blogger recently. I haven't been blogging since then.
It says I've reached my 1 GB quota for photos and ask me to upgrade it for..... (not cheap) What a pain!

I tried to google it and found that  many having the same problem like me. We can actually link to another photo host without paying a cent. Thanks god!

I found this is the easiest and simplest method (for me).. it works finally :

Uploading pictures to google+ - you must be signed up for Google+ and switch your blogger profile to google+ account.
You can then upload and share the photos to google+, pick the photos from picasa web album, upload- DONE
Photos up tp 2048x 1048 pixels and videos up to 15 mins won't count towards your free storage

Other alternative that work the same way, uploading photos to
  • flickr- copy and paste to blogger post (most popular)
  • picasa- I have a ton of duplicate photos in picasa album, I wondered what's wrong with it and dare not to delete any of them.
  • photobucket
  • Shutterfly
  • webshot

Godiva @ pavilion

Godiva cafe is my sister and my niece favorite cafe. We've always had a very pleasant experience when having chocolates here. These chocolates are a best treat for a friend or family member, the selection is large and it's hard to give them up. The freshest and highest quality ingredients are used, you can tell when you take a bite...They also have a terrific selection of truffles, my personal favorite is truffle traditionelle. And of course, who can resist the hot chocolate which has such a smooth and thick flavor.

previous visit: Godiva cafe

Godiva milk chocolate (RM16)

Hazelnut dark chocolate (RM19)- I could hardly taste the hazelnut, way too sugary as well.

Cappucinno (RM13)

Truffle Traditionelle(s) & Truffle creme brulee  - RM67/ 100g

~ RM15/ piece

Beaded easter egg - we bought it for RM230 last year, we got it for 50% off this time round. Outdated collection.
