Tokyo shokudo @ Mid Valley

I'm a hardcore Japanese food fan, sashimi is my all time favorite.
For me, Japanese food is always good and I've seldom been disappointed by Japanese restaurant.
Tokyo has been opened in Mid valley more than a year ago but I've never noticed it. I think if you are shopping in the area, this is a very convenient spot for lunch/ dinner.

Green Tea (RM2/ glass)

Tonkotsu Ramen (RM16)- The soup is not that thick if compare with some other famous ramen, but I like it because it's simple and nice.

Sashimi & Chinmi (RM35) are beautifully presented. Give me the fresh salmon and wasabi and  I'm a happy girl ;}

Not all the dishes were such a success, deep frying doesn't seem to be not the kitchen's strength. I find the Yeppan baby hotate (RM23) too oily for my liking.

There are far better Japanese restaurant out there, but this restaurant represents good value for money.

Waku Waku @ Mid Valley

Waku Waku is not just an ordinary Japanese restaurant. They will give you an ultimate fusion dining experience at a very reasonable prices. Waku Waku means 'excitement' in Japanese is also a pork free, fun and relaxing restaurant

Japaneses roasted rice tea  (RM2.90/ glass)

Japanese inspired Nasi Lemak looks so different that served in hot stone bowl instead banana leaf. Hmm, creative and not bad. But I still prefer traditional local version of Nasi Lemak

Nasi lemak Jepun (RM14.90)

Kuey Teow Jepun/ Japanese style fried rice noodles was surprisingly good. I wasn't expecting to like it, but I really did. It's best eaten when it is hot, smoky hot...

Kuey Teow Jepun (RM11.90)

Poached eggs is simply irresistible

If you want a good meal at cheap prices, this is the best place in town

La boca latino bar

La boca is an authentic Latin American restaurant and entertainment venue that has been voted by CLEO magazine the top 5 hottest new restaurant in KL.
We stopped in here for lunch while shopping in pavilion. We're greeted kindly by the staff there and attracted by the colourful wall art that you could spend hour looking at.

Cubano sandwich (RM24)- Turkey ham, breast & chorizo, emmenthal cheese, mustard relish on a Cuban flavoured ciabatta. Moist and flavorful.

Tallarines (RM28)- Argentinean style fettuccini in acreamy sauce, stirred up with chicken, semi dried tomatoes & button mushrooms, drizzled with basil coulis. A bit bland at first bite, but it tasted progressively better with each subsequent bite.

Fajitas Pollo Brassa (RM 27)- Chicken breast strips fresh cooked to order with coriande, lime, paprika, cumin, onions & peppers. Served sizzling with quacamole, sour cream, pico de gallo & tortila bead. It was just okay, nothing special but not awful.

Cafe Mocha (RM12)- Espresso with chocolate & milk

Cafe con leche (RM10)- Espresso with large measure of milk.

Orange juice (RM10)

When I order ice coffees or ice lattes elsewhere, I'm usually disappointed because it usually tastes watered down and not thick and creamy. But they does a good job. I appreciate the quality of the coffee they serve. I also like the decor, it really feels cozy and looks inviting.

SOULed OUT @ sri hartamas

It's been some time since my last visit. When we arrived at the door we looked inside and thought oh dear, no space. However we were taken to the bar and have a look of the menu before being shown to our table.
The food arrived quickly and was of really good quality and ample amounts.

We sampled the famed summertime salad, sake san pizza, lamb shank... all exemplary!
I had their pan seared grouper, which was delightful to say the least. Their strongbow was fabulous and the salmon pizza was seriously good. The beef could have been better, but the sauce redeemed it.
Great food both for adults and children. Would very much recommend trying it.

Beef ribs - cooked with BBQ sauce for that smoky flavour and served with corn and roasted potatoes. Overly generous portion.

Bistro à Table @ Section 17

Bonjour! Another classy evening is ensured at bistro a table. It situated at section 17 neighbourhood.
The foods are sophisticated but not extravagant, and of quality, may be good ingredient?!
There's no point in reviewing specific dishes here as the menu changes regularly.
Suffice to say, it's French food, freshly prepared the way it should be. You tastes the ingredients, not so addictive. Nothing to dislike but nothing that wowed me and my friends.
Portion sizes are European rather than American. A hungry person won't be happy with just a main course.
Corkage is RM80 for wine, RM120 for liquor. WTH
Setting is simple and nice, it's the place for a quiet and peacefully romantic meal.

We ended our perfect French meal with the chocolate brownie. It is a slice big only enough for 1 person but we all enjoyed every 'little bite' of it..LOL

Truffled mash potatoes (RM14)

Coddled maple syrup egg with crouton dust and Fleur de Sel (RM16)

Cannelloni of seared scallops and school prawn  in lobster bisque  and Indonesia black nut tapenade (RM62)

NZ wild-caught snapper with provincial vegetable and champagne beurre blanc (RM77)

Shreded duck conflit and Dijon papardelle (RM52)

Valrhona gnanaja chocolate brownie with Kahllua anglaise (RM16)

Overall, I think the food was ok but portions rather on the mean side. (Haha we all are China aunties)
The restaurant serves authentic french cuisine, but not all local know to appreciate it, I guess. Price are quite expensive for locals too.

We had a good time anyway...and thanks to my lovely girls for the dinner. XOXO
