Hokkaido cake, RT pastry

I guess u guys already have a good plan to welcome a brand new year. Well, I have a good plan also, going back to hometown to see my beloved family. Just thought to write a last post for this year. Guess what, my 1st new year gift is hokkaido cake. I heard about this cake before and always wondering why is it so famous, it's just looks like a muffin or cupcake. I wanted to try and find out why but never get a chance. Thanks to my customer who giving this to us. They claimed that the cake will melt in the mouth if u bought it and have it in Japan. Here may be half melt in the mouth. It is made fresh daily and best served chilled. I found the cake is really soft and the fresh cream is very light made it unbelievable tasty and delicious. I heard the cream is made by fresh milk, which made it different from the ordinary cream sponge cake.

Thanks to the customer, I enjoyed every bite of it. I'm gonna try the original flavor next time.

Nadeje patisserie cafe, Melaka

I fell in love with mille crepe cake as soon as I took my first bite. It was smooth, fluffy and absolutely tasty! See my previous post  for mille crepe at

I have heard this famous shop for its mille crepes in Melaka for quite some time already. Finally! I am here..
But… the queue was freaking long and it wasn’t moving at all. The long queue and heat nearly put us off.

There were a lot of variety, chocolate, rum and raisins, strawberry, cheese etc.
There were limited choices left when we arrived, so I pick the original, tiramisu and strawberry chocolate to be shared among four of us.
Most people still prefer the original flavor, a good aroma of vanilla, sweet and smooth texture. Nadeje's original mille crepe are very similar to the one in food foundry, the only different I can tell is nadeje's cake are less milky but much creamier. I found tiramisu was not bad though, rich in taste and light in texture.
Chocolate strawberry was less sweet and milky compare to the others.

Nadeje has two branches, the latest one as shown above is located at plaza mahkota while the original can be found at Taman Melaka Raya. If possible do visit the original branch for better authenticity plus fewer customers.
For dessert lovers, you might wanna try out at Nadeje. Its never too late to discover the good cakes!

La Bodega, Empire shopping gallery

The empire shopping gallery which was partly damaged in a gas explosion on October has reopened. Not dare to step in the mall anymore? Don't worry, extra safety measures had been put in place to prevent similar incidents. All restaurants have been fitted with a brand new gas line system that automatically switches off gas supply in case of the detection of a leak ( I wonder why didn't they use this system while constructing the building) . Anyway, the place is safer now, hopefully...

We popped in here to check the new look of the shopping complex and had a simple dinner at La bodega, a Spanish restaurant.
On arrival, I really liked the cozy atmosphere of the place. The waitress recommended us passionately about seafood paella which perfect for two. We're very much appreciated the chance to try different things recommended by a lady with such a passion and skills. We were told  it takes about 30 minutes to prepare and cook the dish. Good food worth the wait, so we agreed.  Things were going well, we were looking forward to our main course....Sadly , these really let the place down.
It's a a Spanish rice cooked in a paella with seafood.  It was a special dish, but the seafood was not fresh and certainly not worth RM60. I found the drinks quite pricey also.

Not a massive menu

Pink guava ( chilled) RM 10

Orange juice (fresh) RM 15

Paella de pescado y mariscos (RM60)

I really wanted to like this restaurant, but I'm afraid I can't really recommended for anything else.

Merry christmas 2011

What would be your ideal or fantasy Christmas day?
The day with family around, the smell of freshly cooking turkey mixed with the smell of a real Christmas tree would be my ideal way to spend Christmas day... I know I know... reality will probably be somewhat different.
Hanging out at the mall is not a bad idea. Most malls are pulling out all the stops this year and shoppers can look forward to Christmas decoration themes that range from traditional to the unusual one.
Year by year, the Christmas decorations have become more creative and special.

For those who want to see a different kind of Christmas setting, 1 utama is the place.

The simple and sweet decoration at Tropicana city mall

 Sticky candy theme at Pavillion

Flying reindeer at Fahrenheit

Blue Christmas at the curve

Sunway pyramid

Traditional Christmas trees at KLCC

The decoration I like the most is at Mid valley

Well, Christmas time will soon be over. Have to wait for another year to see different varieties of decorations.

Merry Christmas !!!
